This collector and crafter client needed beautiful, functional places to stash her stuff. MODECOR reinvented three rooms in her home with custom storage solutions, colour and artful display.
A former bedroom is now an open closet and dressing room with the charm of a boutique. The existing yellow metallic floral wallpaper inspired the sunny palette. A custom hanging system fabricated from pipe fittings allows plenty of clothes storage while keeping everything easy to find. New upholstery and finishes revive existing antiques, and a custom built-in dresser embellished with glass hardware stands in the original closet niche.
The main bedroom was reinvented with a serene palette of pale mauve, blush and greys. Classic toile shams and a gracefully puddling bedskirt bring notes of softness to the handsome cannonball-style bed. Mirrors and metallics infuse the space with glamour, and the existing closet is retro-fitted to display a fabulous shoe collection.
A once-cluttered basement storage area now serves as both home office and inspiring crafting space. Since natural light is in limited supply, a punchy palette was employed to enliven the room. Custom shelving and drawers house the owner’s quilt collection and rug hooking supplies. Floating shelves stocked with oversized glass jars of craft supplies and a few treasures make an eye-catching display wall.
